Recipe: Bring your rice to life with this simple twist

ree

We love adding some rice to our dinner table, yet plain rice can be rather bland. With our unique approach to preparing rice, you'll achieve a visually vibrant and delightfully fragrant bowl that is sure to impress.

We came up with this recipe when we were making sushi at home and simply threw some leftover rice, nori and sesame seeds together and realized, that it vitalizes the rice by its own so well. Since then we have made this side dish for friends, who loved it. The nuttiness of sesame seeds, coupled with the savory crunch of nori, transforms the humble rice into a culinary masterpiece. But see for yourself in the recipe below how simple things can make a big difference.

Rice with a twist

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked rice of your choice (we prefer organic basmati or brown rice)

  • 2 Tablespoons black sesame seeds

  • 2 Tablespoons white sesame seeds

  • 1 nori sheet (cut up into small squares, approx.1 cm x 1 cm)

Directions

  1. (Optional Step) Heat your Air Fryer to 180°C and roast your cut up nori sheets and sesame seeds for 3 min in a heat proof bowl. Make sure your nori sheets do not touch the heating elements.

  2. Add the nori sheets and sesame seeds to the cooked rice and mix well. You can serve this as a side dish with fish or meat. Enjoy!

Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
